About

At City on a Hill everyone is welcome and we’d love to meet you. We regularly get together in Small Groups and bigger Gatherings. Our Gatherings have a relaxed atmosphere, where we learn from the Bible, worship God, and build friendships.

The Leith Community is a growing, diverse group of people. Often cited as one of the world’s coolest neighbourhoods Leith has a long and fascinating history, but it is also one of the least churched areas in the city. We love Leith and we are here to share the best news ever – the good news of Jesus Christ!

We meet as the Leith Community every Sunday at 11am, apart from the first Sunday of every month where we meet with all our other Communities for ‘The Gathering’.

Sammy Ewan

LEITH COMMUNITY PASTOR

Pastor Sammy was born and raised in Northern Ireland and moved to Edinburgh to study Physiotherapy. He has been part of City on a Hill since 2004. After working as a physio for a number of years, God called him to church staff initially part-time then full-time from 2014.

Sammy is passionate about following Jesus and how the church can rediscover its call to make disciples. He is married to Dr Helen Ewan and is Father to Joshua and Elizabeth. He is an avid Spurs fan and lover of all things Leith. In his spare time, you may find him at his allotment.

Serving

Serving is a great way to get to develop friendships with others, serve God and the local church, and be part of the mission to share the good news of Jesus with the world. We have different teams and areas of serving that you can be involved with. From serving on the kids and youth teams, to sound and visual teams, to leading small groups.
