South Community
About
At City on a Hill everyone is welcome and we’d love to meet you. We regularly get together in Small Groups and bigger Gatherings. Our Gatherings have a relaxed atmosphere, where we learn from the Bible, worship God, and build friendships.
Our diverse South community gathers from all over the Lothians (and beyond)! We're a bunch of imperfect people who meet to worship a perfect God, and to be equipped and empowered to go and make disciples of Jesus wherever our day to day lives take us.
We meet as the South Community every Sunday at 2pm apart from once on a quarterly basis where we meet with all our other Communities for ‘The Gathering’. Visit the Coming Up page to find out when our next The Gathering date will be.
If you would like to join one of our Small Groups you can find out more here.
Dani Fonseca
SOUTH COMMUNITY PASTOR
Dani (Daniele), originally from Brazil, is married to Bruno, and they have four children: Arthur, Priya, Octavio, and Enzo. With degrees in design and theology, Dani is passionate about creativity, enjoying painting, drawing, and playing musical instruments.
She worked for years as a Health and Safety Technician in construction and oil industries before sensing a clear call from God in 2012 to serve the Church globally. Since then, Dani and her family have ministered in the Amazon (Brazil), India, and now Scotland.
In India, they founded Love and Missions, focused on church planting, social transformation, and missionary training. Their social transformation work has since expanded to Thailand and Kenya. Today, they are here, in Scotland, full of faith, serving and believing in the revival the Lord has promised. “I am deeply grateful to God for allowing us to live this mission and to be part of what He is doing among the nations.”

Serving
Serving is a great way to get to develop friendships with others, serve God and the local church, and be part of the mission to share the good news of Jesus with the world. We have different teams and areas of serving that you can be involved with. From serving on the kids and youth teams, to sound and visual teams, to leading small groups. Whatever your experience and gifts there’s plenty of opportunity to grow together as we all play our part. Visit our teams page here to find out more.
